Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our virtual drum kit.

You can play our virtual drums in three ways:

  • Click or tap on the drum pads with your mouse/touchscreen
  • Use your computer keyboard - each pad is mapped to a specific key
  • Connect a MIDI controller or electronic drum pads via WebMIDI (supported browsers only)

The keyboard mapping is displayed on each drum pad, allowing you to quickly identify which key triggers which sound.

Yes! Our virtual drum kit includes multiple sound packs that you can switch between:

  • Acoustic Kit - Classic studio drum sounds
  • Electronic Kit - Digital and synthesized drum sounds
  • Hip Hop Kit - Urban and trap-oriented sounds
  • Rock Kit - Powerful rock drum sounds
  • Jazz Kit - Brushes and jazz-oriented percussion

You can access these different kits through the Sound Bank section or directly from the kit selector in the control panel.

Yes, you can record your drum performances directly in the application. We offer several recording options:

  • Record and save as an audio file (MP3, WAV)
  • Record MIDI data that can be exported to other music software
  • Create patterns using the sequencer and save them to your library
  • Share recordings directly to the community or download them

Look for the recording controls in the main control panel. Press the red record button to start and stop recording, then use the export options to save your performance.

Our virtual drum kit is web-based and works on most modern devices. Recommended requirements:

  • Desktop: Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari (latest versions)
  • Mobile: Chrome or Safari on iOS 13+ / Android 8+
  • Minimum 4GB RAM (8GB recommended for advanced features)
  • Stable internet connection
  • Audio output device (speakers or headphones)

For the best experience with minimal latency, we recommend using wired headphones or speakers rather than Bluetooth audio devices, which can introduce additional delay.

Audio latency (delay between triggering a sound and hearing it) can be minimized by:

  1. Using a modern browser with Web Audio API support (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
  2. Enabling "Low Latency Mode" in our settings panel
  3. Using wired headphones or speakers (Bluetooth adds significant latency)
  4. Closing other browser tabs and applications that might be using system resources
  5. On mobile devices, using the device in landscape orientation and with power-saving modes disabled

Note: Some latency is unavoidable in web-based audio applications, but our optimizations reduce it to a minimum for most users.

Yes, our virtual drum kit supports external MIDI controllers through the Web MIDI API. Compatible devices include:

  • Electronic drum pads and kits (Roland, Alesis, Yamaha, etc.)
  • MIDI keyboards and controllers
  • MIDI pad controllers (Akai MPD, Novation Launchpad, etc.)
  • Any other MIDI device that can connect to your computer via USB

To connect a MIDI device:

  1. Connect your MIDI device to your computer
  2. Open the Controls panel and go to "MIDI Settings"
  3. Click "Enable MIDI Input" and select your device from the list
  4. Use the MIDI mapping tool to assign drum sounds to specific MIDI notes

Note: MIDI support requires a compatible browser (Chrome or Edge recommended) and may not work on all mobile devices.

If you're not hearing any sound when playing the drums, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check your device volume and make sure it's not muted
  2. Verify that your speakers or headphones are properly connected
  3. Check the master volume control in our drum interface
  4. Try refreshing the page to reload the audio engine
  5. Ensure your browser has permission to play audio (check browser settings)
  6. Try using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
  7. On mobile devices, check if your device is in silent mode

If you're still having issues, please contact our support team for assistance.

Performance issues can be caused by several factors. Try these solutions:

  1. Close other browser tabs and applications to free up system resources
  2. Enable "Performance Mode" in our settings (reduces visual effects)
  3. Reduce the buffer size in audio settings (may increase CPU usage but reduces latency)
  4. Check your internet connection - poor connectivity can affect sound loading
  5. Try using a different browser (Chrome tends to have the best Web Audio performance)
  6. On older devices, try using the "Lite Mode" option in settings
  7. Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers or script blockers

For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer rather than a mobile device, especially for complex drum patterns or when using effects.
